some more cable routing

I used Pop Rivets to attach the Cable Bracket/Clamp

I made the Clamp that attaches to the lock from a piece of Angle Iron.

I spread the end of the Homemade Clamp out so it would go over the Rod on the Lock and I would be able to squees it and crimp it loosely to the Rod.

The Cable Bracket/Clamp is a combination of a Shelf Bracket/angle iron and a small Wire Rope type Cable Clamp.
Unfortunately the Bracket/Clamp needed some tweeking. To get it to work because I had drilled it too close to the Back Plate of the Tail Lignt.

So, if someone does this don't make your Bracket/Clamp exactly like mine.

Another view of the Homemade Clamp that went on the Trunk Lock Rod.

So the Cable is all hooked up and tested OK.
What is left for me to do is to find a way to route the Cable under the Carpet and so the Rear Does not lay on top of it.
Unforuntely that means disconnecting it and pulling it out to re-route it.

The Trunk Pull Cable is only going to be for emergency use because I did what is in the below Thread and the Electric Vacuum Pump seems to be doing the job.

Electric Vacuum Pump for the Door Locks
Add On Electric Vacuum Pump for W123 Locking System

Forgive me for reviving an old thread! I do have a question I hope someone can answer...

Do the wagons have a pull cable for the hatch or is this something that only came on the sedans? I have a 1985 300TD and I can't open the hatch for the life of me

I have not read of any Wagons with a Pull Cable and apparently the Only W123 Sedans that have a Pull Cable are the ones that had the Factory Alarm/Security System.

Also on the Factory Alarm/Security System there is some different linkages in that Trunk Lock Area.
