Performance tuning list

I have searched the forum to no avail looking for a good "after basics -better performance tune list" such as checking boost, checking timing, changing nozzles. Can anyone list what your boost and fuel press should be and the best way to achieve them. I don't want to add an intercooler or tweak my wastegate, I just want to get the most performance out of my stock 617s. And what should be checked and adjusted first after a compression test and a valve job of course?

I know this may eventually make to the performance threads.

My stock boost on KKK turbo was about 2. after cleaning the banjo bolts and lines plus fixing a small leak I got it to 5-6. Then I turned it up and now driving its almost always around 5-7 and will boost up to around 19... really woke up the car.

Here are some speed tests I did after turning it up.

Listen to how good that engine sounds at 2:27....

I still want to have the injectors balanced, and There is the smallest bit of air getting into my front fuel filter (I'm suspecting a leaky back line I just have not gotten around to it yet) I'm also going to revisit the valve adjustment as I've done a few of them now and feel that I could do better with this car. (It was my first attempt) The ALDA on this car is bad. It's currently turned up to max, and the car will not even move if you attempt to adjust it down. going to replace with a new one once I get back to working on the car.

0-60 around 12 sec. Thats the range where all my 300s fall into except for one 300sd. It needs a valve job and tuned. Its normal that at 75 mph you're running about 3k rpm. I run 215 tires on one 300SD and it cruises a little easier than the rest of the fleet. I don't think 215s will fit on a CD.

Engine sounds really good, everything stock but the manifold press?

You did this by adjusting the wastegate? how much?

I added a boost gauge and then turned up the adjustment screw on the KKK turbo thats on the car. That's it. It's been awhile but I think it was 4 turns.

Going by that video, it took the car 12 seconds to hit 60. I think I can get it better with some more adjustments.

I am running about 22 psi on my 240d. Two things determine fuel pressure. Spring in the relief/overflow valve, and fuel pump spring. Usually the fuel pump spring if fine, but the other needs to be replaced or stretched to regain proper fuel pressure. My 300d was only 5 psi before correcting it. Boost was peaking at 9 psi before correcting to max out at 12 psi.

Do check throttle linkages, to be sure full throttle really does move the throttle shaft on the ip fully to it's stop.

What is the location of this relief/overflow valve spring, in the IP?

OM617 Performance Modifications

This is what I'm talking about.........stock top tuning with a few minor adjustments like increasing boost and blocking EGR. EGT and BOOST GAUGE.

it is part of the banjo bolt that is the fuel return from the ip. It is on the ip, engine side. You will see a fuel hose going from it to the fuel filter. This does not go into the fuel filter, even though it looks like it.
