Papa's got a brand new om617 IP to play with!

G'day Folks,

I went nuts and bought a second hand IP to play about with. In a way it was a moment of sanity as I can now take this part to bits without sacrificing the good one that came with the car.

I'm gonna have fun taking this to bits!

Question about the governor

Checking in the FSM (non turbo FSM!) chapter 07-001 I see that this injector pump PES5 MW 55 / 320 RS 12 was a 1979 pump

According to the FSM it should have this governor => RW 350 / 2200 MW 20

However it is labeled as RW 350 / 2200 MW 15

Does anyone know more about these numbers?

What is the meaning of the last two numbers?

Army,
Some have trouble getting their head around international time or they just forget.
For the record its 11.05 Sunday morning here in Australia as I type this. Day light savings started over night so it was a good excuse for a slow start.

Here is a delivery valve from the same time I did the others. I also added this to my previous post.

Wow great pictures Andrew (meaning the Andrew who is Biodiesel300TD not the other one!) do you happen to have the serial numbers of the IP in your pictures? Perhaps we can work out some differences?

If all goes well with this pump and I can get it tuned up after messing about I'll take my other one to bits. That's a MW/RSF which might also show some differences. The most obvious one in this picture below is the different fuel pump.

Refreshing the fuel pump on an OM617 (European spec – non turbo)

I have a picture of that side of the pump but the serial number is not legible, but here is the pic anyway. The pump is long gone, so no hopes of finding it.

Thanks for that - it looks the same as the one I've got doesn't it?

Did you have a separate thread for your findings here or Benz World or ????
