You did a lot of stuff to your system yourself..... If you only have a leak.... you might get by with just fixing that... thus the nitrogen r22 combo to check in case it is in your evaporator... (the leak)....so a sniffer will detect it...

Upate to what I think is now fixed. Took the car to an AC specialist that had a sniffer and could put the AC under pressure (not sure they used Nitrogen or not.) They found a leak in the high pressure hose around the fittings. Replaced the hose and refilled the system and now its working great. If the system stays charged for a few months in the spring, I am going to assume my problems are gone. I will report back then.

Turn your AC on at least once per month to keep the front shaft seal lubed...
