'84 123 ACC Panel Bulbs
Is it possible to replace the light bulb behind the Auto. and Fan buttons on the '84 ('81-'85?) vintage automatic climate control panel. Mine functions fine, but the light went out.
Thanks in advance. -Reed '84 300D/T about to get his rear headrests... |

Just another minor point on this
After you remove the wood panel (just pry off) you will see that the pushbutton unit is mounted to a plastic panel which in turn is mounted to the dash. In order to facilitate removal of the pushbutton unit, first loosen the 2 or 3 screws that hold the pushbutton unit to the plastic panel ...this will allow the pushbutton unit to flop up and down giving you the necessary play when you remove the panel. Then remove the main mounting screws that hold the plastic panel to the dash....removal is very straightforward from here, then unplug harnesses. You will see the obvious string of "christmas tree lights" that pull out easily. This is a good time to clean the plastic optics and replace all bulbs with new ones...you will notice a marked improvement.
