Question Should replace Glow Plugs before they break?

I noticed that glow plugs will still work even if they the tips are broken off.

I am worried that the tip is bouncing around inside the engine...

Any thoughts as to regular replacement as a PM measure?

Thanks in advance,
Ed

I think on larger pieces that broke off the problem would be that they would block one or more burner bores at the bottom of the firing duct, messing with your spray pattern.

TX bill

Thanks for the thoughts on glow plugs. I was worried with one with the tip broken off and missing. Still seems to work though...

I really like your temp/time bar on your window, Neato.

Does this read the current condition when I access your window? Or does it record the conditions when you send your answer?

The time is off because Bill is using 1157 bulbs to light the display. Oem bulbs would keep the correct time.
