+1 and additionally:

Follow the same rod from the firewall bushing forward and look for the 10mm nut/fastener. Make sure this is tightened when the linkage is positioned to accelerate. I mentioned this because the slot where this item goes in is elongated and allows for a particular range.

If this fastener is not tightened properly, it would feel as if the car is underpowered because the linkage is not adjusted properly. Not enough of the linkage is pushing the throttle arm on the injector pump (due to elongated slot) so it doesn't receive fuel input.
