Easy, simple vacuum line routing question
Sorry to even ask, but... Could anyone please go take a peak under their hood for me?
My question is about the two small vacuum lines that connect to the brake booster hose. One line feeds into a rubber “T”, and then those lines go to the top of the injection pump & down to the transmission modulator. The other line feeds the rest of the car’s vacuum system. Which one goes where - does the transmission control go to the forward port, or the rearward port on the booster hose? The reason that I ask is obvious – I forgot. The new brake booster hose apparently has a different size restrictor orifice for each of the two ports; they are not equivalent to each other as far as flow rate, and this is important for proper transmission vacuum modulator function. Thanks everyone! RTH |

The restricted one goes to the injection pump, EGR control, trans modulator, on the ones I'm familiar with it's the port most towards the front of the car (away from the brake booster). The one closer to the rear of the car (towards the brake booster) is non-restricted, that goes to the door locks, engine shut-off, ACC and the like.
