My turn to get hit by a deer

I just got broadsided by a deer on the way to work today.

Not too much damage, I think I can get the dent removal guy to push it out.

The car really held up well. I'm impressed. I hate deer.

Deer are beautiful to look at and watch move.....

until you see them in the headlights stupidly staring at your car until it hits them.

that is right. the deer failed to yield!

i am still lucky that I did not hit him head on. I think frontal damage is probably beyond the dent removal guy's scope of work.

the deer hit the bottom half of the passenger door and some of the deer hair is actually still on the car (the door handle). yuck.

There was a guy here in Ga this past week that died after he hit a deer while riding a 4 wheeler at 3 am in the morning.

I got broadsided, I never saw the guy. I just heard the thump.

It's all good though, everyone is fine (even the deer I think). I could have been worse.

Yes, deer are beautiful!

And tasty!

BTW today I drove the 350SDL which I bought from you, it has temporarily become my daily driver, and I must say the power was impressive!

I passed a number of vehicles which were causing blockages in traffic flow, all six or so going only 50 mph on an interstate freeway where the speed limit is 70. Swirling around them quickly and carefully was a breeze.

honestly, the best thing we can do for these old cars is to keep them going. I plan on keeping my 190d for a good long while (despite all the deer I hit).

The new cars from Mercedes just don't have the visual appeal.

Glad to hear the SDL is doing well. I am glad I sold it to you. I could have sold it for more locally but could not risk selling it to some unknown yahoo who might put spinners on it.

Thanks again. Stay warm in Michigan.

My wife jumped our TDI over a dead deer in the highway last winter going 60mph. It was dark and rainy and she didn't see it until the last second. Thankfully she saw it too late to swerve and hit it square in the back. If she'd swerved and hit it on one side or the other I'd probably be a windower right now. $3000 dollars later, from the insurance company, only 100 bill out of my pocket and the car was fixed.

Here is what was underneath the next morning

Deer seem to me to be amazing animals...

...amazingly stupid animals if they run into the side of a moving vehicle.
