HELP!! Possibly locked keys in car!!!

Okay, I went to unlock my car, and I can't find my keys. I always hang them up right after I come inside. However, I cannot find them. I was hoping somebody had an idea about how to unlock the doors without a key. I would really like to know!! I think I may have accidently locked the doors with the keys inside, possibly not, I'm still looking around the house. My Dad might have grabbed them, but he is unavailable. I just moved the car around the yard 3 hours ago!

unless you've really done something to your lock, or exited the car through the passenger door, this isn't possible. the driver's door can't lock unless it's closed..meaning it can only be locked from the outside with the key, or with you on the inside

How did you lock the keys in the car. The driver's door requires a key to lock it.

I think I used the key, but I think I locked the passenger door with the thing sticking up. I am not too sure, I am still exiting panic-mode. I hope I didn't.

FOUND THEM!!! When I had checked my coat pockets, I had missed them!! PHEWW!!! I am officially calmed down. That was a horrible, sinking, disgusted feeling when I reached for the keys, and they weren't hanging up. Thanks!!

Is this your only copy? If it is, it's time to head to the dealer and have a new steel key made.

My wife's keychain has a duplicate of the my 300D's key, and I have one for her 190E. As a final back up, I have a brass duplicate key of my 300D in my wallet (it's thin enough to be unobtrusive).

I thought it was odd when I read this post. It's actually pretty hard to lock your keys inside the car...

I hate my GFs car because of this. You can lock the door at any time which makes it quite easy to lock them inside.

I always carry a spare key for the mazda in my wallet. I had one made at home depot and I ripped the rubber head off. It wont start the car but it will get me in it. Just yesterday I left my key in the ignition in the run position at work from 2-5pm and when I went to get it in it was locked. I realized I didnt have my key and I pulled out my spare. I then realized I left the key in the ignition and the car didnt start. I had to jump it but it was better than having to get a co worker to take me to my house to get my spare and then all the way back and jump it in the dark.

If you did lock the keys in the car. This is how you get in:

You need a coat hanger, a file, a big screw driver, a leather belt.

Bend one end of the coat hanger to a fish hook shape and sharpen with file.

Using the leather belt to protect the trim and paint, pry the corner of the door open just enough to stick the coat hanger in. Bend the coat hanger to shape till you can hook the door knob and yank. Takes me less than a minute.

I have two keys, one unlocks the drivers door and starts the car, the other unlocks the passenger door and starts the car. I have no trunk or glovebox key.

They are on the same keychain.

Have you ever taken one of those tests where you put the square pegs in the square holes?
