I have an 87 300D with an OM603 that got taken off the road as the list of required repairs badly exceeded the value of the vehicle. It was diagnosed with a cracked head by a non-MB mechanic. It is a casting #14 and the car did have overheating issue (due an Ex who didn't know what a low coolant light was.....

)
There are a couple local shops that can do pressure tests of cylinder heads for under $100. Would the average shop be able to confirm that the head is scrap? I'm prepared to spend a couple bucks to be 100% sure that the head is junk before I scrap it.
Thoughts?
