keep us posted, I am grateful for your thread, I have an IP waiting to mount back up myself...this is helping me learn a huge amount as well! I do feel your IP pain....good luck, hope the next try works out...

Careful, the well up method is different from the Drip Method of timing.

true, bit different from what I need,(thanks for keeping me straight) but I am a diesel mercedes sponge right now...trying to take it all in...I have till Aug 8th to have mine my DD....

Well, the verdict is in . . . delivery valves and plungers are bad in the pump, fuel is coming out at the wrong time, needs a rebuild. There's an $1100 we weren't planning on spending on the race car *ugh*

On a side note, we put the IP in from the parts car and still couldn't get the frigging thing timed right. Up on the trailer it went, into the local diesel expert. The timing was off on the donor pump by 62*, so they are resetting the timing on the pump, reinstalling everything and tuning it to the car. it's a bit on the expensive side, but we'll have a car that runs and has fuel delivered at the correct time. We might even reach the target 100 hp! So moral of the story, when you follow the instructions on the manual and fail repeatedly, call in an expert!
