Oil canister valve replacement

I've learned, from my Indy shop, that I need a part seemingly unavailable new.

Specifically, the valve regulates oil flow to the oil cooler in my 1982 300SD. Roy / PeachParts recommends that MB stopped manufacturing it in 1985, and my best resource is salvage or this community. I'm looking for PN 6151840032..

I'm quite interested to find a solution as soon as possible.

Any ideas!

6151840032 this came up listed as a Valve Seat with an MSRP of $4 from the Mercedes Dealer. The source I looked at did not say if it was something that they stocked.

There is a thermostat in the housing that opens and closes with oil temp.
Maybe that is what they were refering to? Looks like #86 in Diesel911 picture.

Could be the thermostat opens and pushes against the spring and other parts and opens the valve. think it`s a plastic piece.

911,

Yes, that's the part I'm searching for..Got one?

Charlie, I'm not sure if it's plastic or metal, but I'll ask my indy.

If you determine to pull the other one, let me know! I am in need. I hate the thought of loosing access to this great 304,000 mile vehicle due to a $4 parts failure.
