Look what I found!
i found this paper taped up to the climate control instructions..
 Thought you guys would be interested. Not entirely sure what the EPA is getting at... either it gets 27 mpg..or that they've assigned it 27 on their scale...

it could be attained. I did a super slow road trip and my mileage came out to 29 mpg. My mixed has ten getting up to the 27 mpg arena but its mostly at 25 average. I never believed anyone who claimed they got that kind of mileage but its true, it can be done.

I have had very good luck with my system, find the EPA or Transport Canada figures for city and highway, ((city X 2)+highway)/3. It almost always comes up with a figure very close to real world fuel mileage.
Just for kicks, the last time I figured out mine, (averaged over 3 tanks of fuel), it came up just shy of 30 mpg Imperial, (29.83) which works out to 24 mpg US. Mixed city / highway driving, I don't think that's shabby for 295000 miles on the odometer. (It doesn't like to start below O C, and I prefer not to mention the blowby. It doesn't "teakettle" the cap, it relocates it  )

Well, I know from personal experience that it's possible.
Elsa (Mercedes 300D) | Fuelly  But I've also driven like a madman running for the border for the past few years and only during the last year have I tried to convert to a grandpa driving style.
