New 220d for me!
![]() ![]() Just bought this in NJ (where my family is) and having it shipped to Dallas (where I live). I had a 76 Benz that literally had no passenger side floor (I cut out all the rust and just drove it like that). I loved that car and when I moved to Dallas I sold it for dirt cheap to avoid it getting scrapped. This car is a 1969 220d 4 speed manual. Has some rust on the floorboards but other than that it's not bad. It's originally a Texas car and I'm bringing it back to its home state. My plans for it are to drive it some and do a complete restore. I love these cars and I will not make the mistake of selling this one. ![]() This is my 300d |

That looks awesome. Congrats on the purchase.
Is your w115 300D "lowered"?

Haha yup. And the 220d will be also. My other cars scrape the ground everyday. But I'm sure most don't really care for that around here.

We are an eclectic crew here. Sure there are a lot of purists, but there are a lot of us that are just happy to see the cars still on the road, regardless if they are original or not. If gremlins broke into my car and replaced my <60hp OM615 engine with a OM617A turbo, I doubt I would be too sad about losing the "all original" status. 75 mph would be mighty nice on occasion.

Cool! Well I'm sure I'll be liked somewhat then. I absolutely love mercedes diesels and want about every one I can get my hands on just so they don't get neglected. |

Nice! Love my '75 300D! Such a classic body and interior with the w115 cars. Enjoy, what else can you buy that is built so well and brings so much pleasure to drive and maintain!

Anyone recommend good places for parts? I've seen people mention someone on these forums that sells parts? Also most MB dealers still stock parts for these?

I would recommend Fastlane for parts. Phil is extremely helpful and gets the parts to you fast. Also there are a few w115's in several of the wrecking yards around here. There are 1 or 2 in Apache foreign in Kennedale and 3 in Little John's yard off of Handley Ederville in Fort Worth.

Congrats and I love the way a W115 looks lowered. What did you do to lower your 300D?
