I'm an impatient type of DIYer. Don't let me around that ALDA screw. I'd probably break it. I have read that its a real big oops if forced.

According to my Chilton the pump has a filter in it that needs to be changed. So I tried to remove the top of the alda. I started with the set screw on top. Seemed like a good place to start. Loosened the set nut and started to unsrew it. After two inches of screw it stopped turning. So I put it back to its original position and tried to drive to the library. Held to the floor the car would only go about 20 MPH. I have adjusted it correctly since then. But the point is yours should turn farther thatn a quarter turn.
