240D Questions

Pardon me for a couple of questions but my new (1980) 240D did not come with a manual:

1. Is the oil filter the same as on the 300D's?
2. What is the oil capacity compared to 300D's?
3. What is the average fuel tank capacity?

Thanks,

Don

Don, I can answer #2 and #3.

2. The oil capacity that mine takes to fill with filter change is 6.5 quarts.

3. The fuel capacity, is about 17 gallons with 2 gallons included as a reserve.

Try and get an owner's manual ASAP...

there are quite a number of little things about the 240 you can only learn from the manual. If you are an MBCA member, you can likely buy one from the classifieds in The Star...good luck! I WANTED that baby!

Herb:

Thanks for the capacity info. Just gave her the first oil change and 6.5 was it all the way. Didn't even have to top her off.

Did you look into buying this car? A friend of mine was goofing around about me retiring the Volvo and pointed it out to me. The "no rust" deal really grabbed me. I have some tweeking to do for sure.

Jim:

Thanks for the filter comment. I guess I should have just compared them on fastlane.
