Questions ???

BJ - Where did you get those cone shaped GPs ? I suppose the are not OEM. How do you explain this unsuccessfull GP swap ? A bunch of scrap new GPs ? Unappropriate design ?

Finally!

I bought another GP(that's the last one they had. the rest of them are new design looks like a shapened pencil end) from the dealer today. put it in this evening and she fired up nicely but still has a little miss sometime at idle. the smoke disappear. then I found a way to tell which injector is not acting right by putting my index finger on each line near the injector. You can feel the pulse on it(which sync with engine vibration). #4 was not as strong. I cracked open that line and the diesel fuel start flowing and I saw diesel bubbling around the back plastic on the prechamber(I discovered another way to check leak around the prechamber). I also cracked open #1 and #2 and let the fuel flow to the prechamber but I don't see any bubble. I guess #4 is not properly torqued and causing a leak(may be I have losen it somehow when I remove the fuel line). I have decided to work on it later after I get some fuel return line. Anyway, I think I figure it out.

CJ: the IM removal is pretty straight forward after you remove those things I mentioned earlier. you don't need to remove the throttle cable and the vacuum hose under the CC act. just move them out of the way or sit them near the wheel well. you will need a 3/8 universal joint and a long extension(1'). #3 and #4 have screws near IP which are harder to get to.

DR: I got those GPs from performance when they had 15% sale a while back. After I found out it was no way to change all five of them without removing the IM then I ordered those gaskets and valve seals from Phil.
