A couple months ago I got brand new Bosch water pump for my 420SEL from rock auto for $99 shipped. The box was genuine Bosch and said it was "brand new". It looked like the mating surface had been dragged across a rough concrete surface. There were several gouges I could get my finger nail into. My guess is that are popping of a conveyor belt into a bin and then moved around and jostled in there damaging them all to hell. Guess where it was made? China of course. I thought by going with a nice "trusted" brand I could not go wrong. Luckily I got a full refund and a store credit. I ended up going with one from orielly. It appeared 10x better then the Bosch unit plus came with a lifetime warranty. Just saying, beware of Bosch. It might be better to get a Bosch reman from Germany or something.
