83 Mercedes Turbo Diesel. Never pay for gas again!!Can run on used oil
83 Mercedes Turbo Diesel. Never pay for gas again!!Can run on used oil - $800 (bedford) I bought this last year and has never left me stranded. Its not the prettiest but hey it will be worth it to never pay for gas again. It is a 1983 Mercedes Turbo Diesel 300SD it will run on Used Vegtable Oil with the right filtration system. I have not tried it myself but the mythbusters have here is a video to prove it http://youtu.be/QEX1YFXYTdI I will not cheap sell this car because I know how valuable it will be in the future. It is a very dependable car It is a 5 cylinder with Turbo, Clean History report with no accidents or problems(see pic),leather,sunroof, radio, , all glass intact, new tires, up to date stickers, clean title, all lights work It does have its quirks just like any old car Seats have random rips, the passenger rear window does not roll down(needs new window motor). It is a 3 speed and transmission needs to be adjusted for some reason it will not go into park so I put it in neutral and put the e-brake.the speedohmeter does not work i have been using an app on my phone. I am asking 1200 o.b.o. will trade for a running boat or jewelry or firearms Call or text Kiefer The rest of the photos. |

Well, this guy isn't going to cheap sell the car because he knows how valuable it will be in the future.
He's a pretty smart guy --- uses the app on his phone to tell his cruising speed, uses the neutral with parking brake instead of park on the 3-speed transmission, and knows what it will be worth to never pay for gas again. I think it's safe to say most people are not that smart. Dkr. |

What a bargain.....
From ad: http://vancouver.craigslist.ca/van/cto/5382678231.html Selling an antique Mercedes Coupe, that needs work. Details and photos below. $16,000 obo. Please reply via email if interested. Car Details: 1965 Mercedes 250 SE Coupe, 2 Door, Fuel Injector, Power sun roof, power brakes, standard, all original parts Car needs work; upholstery, body work, injector pump, muffler The water pump has just been replaced (brand new) |
it's only $16,000 because it HAS NO TITLE ~ if it had any papers , of course it'd be far more expen$ive.... :D .

I've seen worse. I like the color and stick-shift. Lack of title scares me. Don't know what a W111 parts-coupe is worth these days, but 12 years ago, I could've (maybe should've) bought a similar, running 220SE coupe locally, including title, for $1900! Happy Motoring, Mark |
Isn't $ 16,000 something like $ 1.60 US ?
Does this car really have mechanical fuel injection? " Car needs work;. . . injector pump. . ., " |
Yes ;
Many older Mercedes had a mechaniocal fuel injection system . I thought the " E " suffix meant electronic fuel injection but the seldom seen Bosch D-Jetronic system (AFAIK) wasn't available in 1965.... Someone here will know the exact details . Hopefully this guy is just fishing and will sell it to someone who'll fix it up again , used to be I'd see these in almost rust free if totally stripped condition in So. Cal. Junk Yards , well worth the effort to make one out of two . |
Mercedes E = Einspritzung = German for fuel injection. Mechanical injection was installed on all 6-cylinder W111 SE models. I did see one carbed W111 coupe on eBay many years ago that had received a 220S engine transplant.

Thanx Mark ! .
I knew someone would know . |

Okay, so this is from Ebay (not CL), and the car actually isn't a turd. But the seller is being a turd by clearly misrepresenting the miles on the car and by asking for WAY too much money:
The seller is claiming 9100 miles on the car and asking for $18K. There is NO way the odometer on this car hasn't turned over. The brake pedal is highly worn and the trip odometer reset knob has all sorts of scratches. The carpets are worn and dirty and the headliner has also detached at the back window. The engine compartment is not particularly clean either. There are more photos at the link, but these four will give you an idea about the car. Do you think there is any chance this car has only 9100 miles? |
