Modified 1987 Mercedes Benz 300TD Wagon

"This "murdered out" (flat black custom paint with smoked lights) and fully tricked out 1987 Mercedes 300 TD Wagon with a newly rebuilt engine w/120,000 miles is the ultimate vintage wagon. In other words, this ride turns heads. The car can run as a "frybrid" on 75/25 Waste Veg Oil to diesel (55 gal "service station" included) or just as a very high mpg diesel.

The interior and exterior are spotless, and the Alpine system is Bluetooth connected and iPhone charge/connected. There is a very roomy back section with jump seats which fold down for pure storage. As you can see below, virtually everthing on the car has been rebuilt or replaced and is brand-spanking new. I'm also including towers and a heavy duty Thule cargo basket, and a $1300 Greasecar dual tank conversion kit should you decide to convert to full WVO. This car has over $18,000 invested in it, as well as a lot of love and hard work. Asking only$ 9900!! Call 614-284-3715 with any inquiries.

Features:
- Alpine sound system with Bluetooth connectivity
- Sunroof
- Power windows/locks
- Flat black paint job
- Tinted windows and darkened tail lights
- Replaced engine with lower milage engine (120,000 miles)
- Rebuilt injection pump
- New front struts and shocks
- Rear hydraulic accumulators replaced
- New radiator
- New tires, breaks and battery"

- - - - - -

I am not sure if it the price, the ugly blackout or the WVO conversion that makes me want to puke...

I have a 1982 Benz 380 SEC Coupe with a 560 motor. Body is solid. It will run and drive, I drove it back there. Needs a hot top post battery. Partial restoration of interior needs finishing and a coat of paint. The Back seats are in. The Front Seats ARE NOT needs restoring. I have all the pieces and extra parts. Got it to be a project car, but now I have no time to restore it to it's natural beauty. I WILL CONSIDER TRADING FOR A EVERYDAY DRIVER FOR MY 16 YEAR OLD SON. OR PARTING OUT. I WOULD HATE TO DO THAT, BUT HAVE NO USE FOR IT. CLEAR TITLE IN HAND. MUST GO. If you are one of those people who loves to do projects, give Me a call. It is worth more than I am asking, so no BS people. Loe 313 444 7488 $2399 OBO.!!!

This VW makes that smoke-stack SD look restrained & tastefull! But at least, except that Rolls-nose and rear-hatch, it's still a basic beetle.
Back in the '80s I had an especially unpleasent test-drive in one of those fiberglass MG-TD replicals on a VW beetle chassis. Extremely uncomfortable, atrocious handling, and absolutely no stuctural integrity - probably the nastiest vehicle I've ever driven!

The Rolls grille on a Bug was common enough in the 70's. The car was not pretending to be a Rolls and was more of a Tee Hee , Ha Ha kind of mod.

Have a look at the $ 30,000 " Gambler " SL 320, I saw pics of this car a year ago. The tag line said the owner stopped doing drugs / drinking and put his eforts in to the car. I say yea for cleaning up his act, not so yea for the car.

Pics on Craigslist don't seem to work so well with my computer so I can't post them.

42 MPG Mercedes-Benz

This car IS driven daily. Everything that is wrong with this car includes the back passenger window has quit rolling, but it is locked UP. The climate control isnt working, but I have found the relay (20.00 dollars online) that needs to be replaced to get it doing- it is a relay for the blower, the odometer quit about a year ago but benefit of the doubt- i would say its at 194k- this IS a diesel so it will go for WELL over 300,000. finally, the radio doesnt work properly, but I am including a kenwood car radio for free.
This car was converted to run on USED COOKING OIL OR DIESEL. It uses the same gas tank so you can even mix the two. This conversion is so simple to operate, a caveman could do it. Since Ive used grease in the car, Ive saved easily over 5k in fuel cost. IT is GREAT on fuel economy, diesel is about 37mpg and grease is getting about 41/42.
The car is a 1985 mercedes Benz 300SD Turrbo-Diesel. Yes, the turbo works GREAT. Car shifts great, and always starts right up with a good idle. Clean title, registered and inspected. All fluids maintained.

Call or text me for any additional information. price is FIRM but will consider trades of other fun cars.

They also added embedded maps further causing me problems.

That's not an unreasonable starting price for the car but if I bought it, I would trailer it home. I would also bring a hacksaw with me to cut off that silly hood stack so I would not be seen even trailering something that tacky. I'm a redneck for sure but hood stacks are for tractor pulls and tractor pulls only!

I trailered my car home but that was because the tags and inspection were long past expired and at the time, I had no one else to drive the car for me.

Hi Eaton
Yeah my computer has been through heck and in some respects it is a turd. It started life about 10 years ago.

I had to take an angle grinder and cut out some of the case when I replaced the mother board about 7 years ago. Reinforced the case with a sheet of luan plywood. 6 years ago an ex employee set off a time bomb in the hard drive after she was discovered for embezzlement. The cooling fans are bungeed in with cable ties. I converted it to Linux about a year ago as it was so slow with windows.

Where was it apparent that I have Linux?

Heck of a story. Now we can officially include your computer in the turd thread!

I would even venture a guess that you are using Ubuntu given its popularity in the last few years.

Delibes 03-10-2013 07:07 PM

Picture of the computer or it didn't happen!

Silber Adler 03-10-2013 07:43 PM

You twisted my arm. I forgot to mention that the power supply was replaced with a genuine Chinese unit after it threw a big spark internally. The main trouble with the new powersupply is that has enough electrical interference to prevent AM reception for about 100 yards around. The mother board is held to the plywood base with dry wall screws and held off it by blocks of yellow polyurethane foam.

My internet connection is nearly as unique.
I am using a cell phone modem attached to the focus of satellite dish to amplify the signal. Without it we don't get a signal.

I welded an extension onto the dish to put the modem at the focal point.

================================================

This 200D would take a lot of work. It would need to be completely stripped if the rust would allow a rebuild of the body. The paperwork calls it a 1968; perhaps it was a '67 first registered in '68 or something. Owner had it in storage yard as project car but stopped making rent payments and let it go. Storage yard wants to get rid of it. Here's what I saw:

• Engine complete except for battery
• Glass OK
• Four flat tires, car sits very low, cannot see underneath
• No wheel covers (trunk?)
• Windows hard to crank down due to growth of mold/moss on weatherstripping

• Package shelf and back of rear seat rotten
• Front seats and rear seat bottom OK but probably very musty
• Dash OK and apparently complete

• Trunk locked; cannot see underneath to determine whether rusted through.
• Doors all open and close solidly so body probably not tweaked
• Body visibly straight, no accidents or if accidents then well repaired
• LR tail area small damage (dings) and rust at side marker light, not rusted through
• Under doors rusty, poss from interior leaks (foot wells) but not rusted through; I poked around with a knife blade and didn't go through anywhere

• Interior water intrusion evident, probably due to aged weatherstripping.
• Rust LR footwell but not rusted through, feels solid
• Damp LF footwell
• Puddle RR footwell, couldn't find plug to drain 1/4" to 1/2" water under rotten rubber mat
• Moss growing in RF footwell
