1985 Mercedes Benz 300td wagon
This car is pretty much identical to a car near me that isn't for sale but is never driven

It seems like a lot of these cars aren’t really TURDs at all. Maybe we have gotten lost in translation of what is actually supposed to be posted here....

They added the “D” on the end. California is 7 characters.

Side note...I think its pretty stupid to put the model designation as a license plate. It says it literally a foot and half away...

The car in this ad isn't awful for the price. But what got me to smile was the spelling in the ad. Perhaps someone can translate for me.

That picture is not of a 1985.

yes, it is.
notice that it's a euro. the climate control is manual, and there are no wipers on the headlights... no third brake light, an 86 mandate...
the 124 came out in 85 in europe...:D
very spartan vehicle, no rear headrests, no radio, minimal to the extreme. I like it.

WOW! I sit corrected. You learn something new everyday! I thought the seller was mistaken and put 1985 instead of 1995.

I agree, some of the cars listed are not bad deals at all. LOL

I would rather see a MB Diesel engine in a Jeep than see it crushed for scrap. It really belongs in a MB chassis but sometimes they rust away or get hit by other cars and you can't save them.

One thing that gets my drawers in a bunch is seeing people all over CL trying to get $3k for a POS that needs $6K worth of work done. Yet, I go to PNP and see almost mint condition cars sitting there and the only thing wrong is something like a head gasket or similar issue. I guess people now days are so used to throwing things out and buying new that they can somehow justify the $1500 to replace the head gasket going into some new car with $300+/mo payments for the next 5 years. Not to mention the additional taxes and dealer fees. The same thing will happen in less than 10 years when something major breaks on the new car. Back to dealer for another new car.

My sister took her car in for service. A week later she was looking under it and saw oil leaking. Yep you guessed it, she went out and bought a new car.....:) Probably someone didn't do their job on the service and she sheep went out for the slaughter again.

Well, if she took it to Jiffy Lube, then she probably made a good choice since the chances are greater than not that they left the oil filler cap off/forgot to put oil back in it. LOL

cooljjay 02-20-2013 04:58 PM

Love the color on that 116, granted the wing isn't original but its not bad....I would keep it kinda like it gives it the high class limo feel.....just look at the gawking red necks :-)
