I remember going to a "salvage yard" in south texas as a teenager, looking for parts for my junky first car. I saw a line of cars in reasonable shape- most with body panels missing here or there, maybe a hood, but all of them were 25+ years old and otherwise not too bad. I asked the tatooed guy in the wife beater and sunglasses why they were lined up like that and he said "If you want anything off em, or wanna take one home, you better hurry- they all goin to the crusher tomorrow." I just stared at them and felt my stomach turn...
