Where can I get this ball joint tool?
The post on replacing the ball Joints by bodyart27 mentions a tool called a
JCT 1849 remove and replace ball joints. It has a mandrel and a tool to press in the ball joint. I have looked all over the net and can't find it. Could some one please help?

You also need a Hydraulic Press or take it to someone that has a Press.

Ya Iam always looking for a...
I like this tool, but still need a Hyd press. the tool would be $120.00 +, and $150 or so for the press. now if you already have the press or access to one you are good. The MB BJ Tool that is shown in the FSM that fits into a vice is pricy too. the cheapest SIR one I found is $249 on up to $331+ The Baum tool is $499 on this site. Iam constantly checking CL for MB Tools an Hyd Press, some times MB tools show up, that is how I found my Spring Compressor......cheap. most of the HYD presses are HF stuff, and there is always the guy that is moving and doesn`t have room, or is moving so far he won`t pay the shipping because of the weight. I did buy a hydraulic press about a year ago - it has been used in anger a few times now - on W123 axles (doing it the hard FSM way)
I have a 12 ton press - I reckon that if you could find a good quality abor press (a toothed rack and cog configuration - no hydraulics) you'd be quids in and still be able to do most jobs on a W123... ...for me a hydraulic press (so far) has been serious over kill. Cheapo arbor presses start at about 70 euros over here - whereas the hydraulic presses start at about 120 euros with out a gauge (just a pot jack upside down in a frame)
