Fastest growing DD thread ever?

whunter - why did you keep on going back?

In the old days they used to say three strikes and you're out.

I'm sorry so say that today I have a one strike rule.

Yep, seen that happen enough over the years. If the car has a fan attached to the water pump, it may be out of balance.

If not, it is likely the bearing lost grease then the shaft weakened or the material was too soft. Modern water pump bearings use the shaft as the inner race for the ball bearings rather than a packaged ball bearing on a shaft.

I can do that on my computer with google talk for free. My phone has a nationwide calling plan included.....and I can use the free vonage app for calls to USA or canda on my (non-cellular) droid device too. I've got it covered.

Roy, I just had to read your first post a second time. I thought I must have read it wrong the first time.

You are a more patient man than I am!

You should offer to buy the car for the change in your pocket.

That's a sad story for you, Roy. It's the person, not the distractions of media/technology/ Just the way he was raised, I guess.

Lol, x20 on the patience thing, whunter is pretty impressive.

I'm a guy who has physically taken a cell phone and smashed it with a 3lb sledge for similar behavior towards me (though the kid was technically supposed to be working for me at the time, and this was before smart phones). I would say that was one of the most gratifying times of my life.

He was supposed to be assisting me working on removing a leaf spring from a truck front suspension, and he was yakking away instead of focusing on the job, which was with heavy components and could seriously hurt one of us. The expression on his face, I will take that to the grave

That episode would kind of leave him speech less.

I have nothing against social media unless it is used improperly. Such is the situation in this case. There is a right time for everything. Some people just do not know when to stop.

You are a very patient man, Roy. If I were in your shoes I'd feel bad about it too but I'd probably leave at the first sign.

Yes, this is why I won't sell my vehicle to anyone under 40.

If they ask (and they do) I tell them : $ 11,000 cash.

They go away disappointed.

I go away w/o having to deal with people that think the car never needs oil because diesel fuel is already oil and the engine has glow plugs to start it if needed.

I would rather sell the car to a bank robber. Know why? They always maintain getaway cars!

Well, at least we liked the w123's before they were cool....uh oh.

I'm 29 so in a few short months I will no longer be in the under 30 crowd. I have too many hobbies. Guns, computers, playing music, recording studio, photography, geocaching and now my car. I have facebook, but I don't like it. I look at it everyday, but only for about 10 a day. I'm surprised to see the Tim Hortons comments. I live in Parkersburg, WV and we have 2 within 3 miles of each other. No starbucks though...
