Again Rick, if you decide to make the trip down this way, the Flying J in Fife is on Port of Tacoma Road. Take that exit off I-5 south and turn right. Cross Pacific Highway and it is on the right.

Well I just refilled my 300D and fuel is still $1.49 per gallon at the Flying J. I suppose that's the price I'll have to live with for a while.

I missed that when you posted it back in October. Good to know though. I go down to Tacoma to visit relatives a couple times a year, so that'd be a good spot to fill up. Thanks!

Visiting OBX, NC for First Flight Celebration???

Just to let anybody know that may be coming here to Kitty Hawk, NC to visit for the First Flight Celebration in two weeks (Dec 17,2003) right now deisel is $1.42 and Reg Unleaded is $1.47, Super Unleaded $1.57, and Premuim Unleaded is $1.67.

This is the pricing at for three fuel stations that have deisel and some of the others may be higher but I haven't seen any lower.

Thought I would take this opportunity to pass along an anouncement: GasPriceWatch.com is back online! They were offline for quite a while, and it was one site that I truly missed when it was gone. BTW, I have no affiliation with their site.

Anyway, click here to see what diesel prices are like in my area...

Holiday Bargains!

If you ever had any doubts about whether or not we get jacked pricing on heavily traveled holiday weekends, just take a quick look at July 4 and Thanksgiving 2003:

Paid $1.52 today at a Citgo station in Gainesville (Williston Road and 34th Street). Took $16.70 and took 10.920 gallons to fill up..and 22.2 mpg, last time I filled up I got 24.8, but this time I did a lot of driving in town with that stop-and-go annoyance.:p

Diesel still way more than regular unleaded gas here in the Vancouver Washington area.
Diesel 1.589
Reg. Unleaded 1.389
The price of gas has been coming down lately but not the diesel!
Its almost cheaper to drive the Tahoe instead of the 300D.

Been holding steady at $1.439 for diesel for a long time.

I was going to say the same for gasolene at $1.259 but it took a jump yesterday to $1.319.

Guess its time to gouge the holiday travelers again.

Kinda surprised to see diesel holding steady at the onset of heating season.

Diesel is definitely cheaper down south.
Our price for Shell diesel has gone up a few cents, from 1.569 to 1.599 recently.
Premium gas is holding at 1.569 for the cheapest Exxon 93 octane, and 1.439 for unleaded 87.
Of course, over the last 20 tankfuls, the gas wagon averaged 17.5 mpg and the SD 23.40 mpg. Lots of trips, but still...
Also, 5.4 cents a mile for the SD over 20 tankfuls
9 cents per mile for the TE over 1 year....[wow! ... different kinds of driving, to a point, same driver though]
In reviewing some of my fuel consumption records, I noticed that back at the end of 2001 I was paying 1.079 for diesel in New Jersey.
