center console window switches

I just took up my center console and all of the wires and connectors are pretty dirty. Little bits of food or drink seem to have gotten down there and its pretty messy. what should I use to clean this all up without damaging anything? I also found out why my passenger side rearview mirror wasn't anjusting. The switch wasn't connected to anything. The wood is not completely connected to the plastic toward the front of the whole thing. what should I use to bond it one there properly?
