Absolutely....love....this.....car! Changed fuel filters, air filter, oil and filter, and coolant. Will change brake fluid and ATF and filter next week (going with Redline D4). Failed inspection due to holes in center exhaust pipe....so replaced everything from cat to muffler....sounds perfect now.
Only thing that doesn't work is aux water pump....but heat at idle is not terrible with it offline, so I will just leave alone for now. Tempted to smile every time I look at the odometer.

I am happy to hear that, and you seem to have bought a really nice one.
I have had mine for 2 years now and absolutely love it as well. It replaced my 190D T, and although I really loved that car I would not go back. The 98 E300 is quieter, more powerful, more comfortable and a much, much nicer car.

The other function on that car that depends on the AWP is the "rest" feature on the control panel. If you don't know already, you can park, press this button and the cabin will be warmed by the residual heat in the engine.

rest
the pups particularly enjoy that feature, along with the rear AC in the summer
