IS wagon linkage different than other linkage for 617 turbo?

I have been reading chapter 30-300 of the 617 service manual and it says that in the picture the #14 rod is suppossed to be adjusted to 140mm....except the rod (#14) on the 85 wagon is only around 70mm when adjusted to full length....could it be that the manual is different for a wagon or even yet for a turbo motor in regards to the linkage on the valve cover. I am really not sure what year or model engine this manual is for, i thought it was for a 1983 300D which I always assumed meant it would be for a turbo 617. The car worked fine before we started messing with the linkage, and now I have messed with it and would like to adjust it properly again. It. Seems to lack power, since I messed with it and the transmission does'nt seem to want to engage passing gear. I think that the #14 rod I messed with is for the transmission, but am not sure.
