Who is Phil and what does he sell?

I keep running across his name in various threads, but I can't seem to find him as a user.

Looking to get my hands on some motor mounts, center carrier bearing and mount.

Phil was the sales guy for Peach Parts before they were acquired by Pelican Parts.

Phil passed away in 2012.

clicking on the link for your car brand at the top of the page, will get you a great deal of mercedes parts. not as good as phil was at finding out what you need, and getting it, but it does support this wonderful site, and the prices are fair!

Phil was well loved and respected here on the forum. Great guy, always helpful, personable and always steady and level headed. Gone too soon.

Yep Phil was a good egg.

Was there ever an update regarding the funeral?

Everyday and in every way I am more and more appreciative of Phil's outstanding sales and customer service support. Great customer service is non-existent with good customer service becoming more difficult to locate as most car parts counters nowadays are staffed by monkeys and orangutans. We miss you Phil!!!!

There is no help buying parts here on the forum, like when Phil was here. He would go the extra mile to find a part that was not listed in the catalog. He was a Mercedes guy, and when he had time, he would talk about these cars with you. He was very compassionate about what he did.
I always wanted to meet him.

RIP Phil.

I would sometimes receive parts the NEXT day. Rarely did it ever take more than 4-5 days to get parts when I ordered them from Phil. While I greatly appreciate this forum, the customer service is terrible and is no better than any other web site that sells parts. The last time I spoke to a PP sales rep. was the last time. They couldn't be bothered to look beyond what came up on their monitor.

sadly, bad attitudes amongst auto parts sales staff is pandemic. Surprisingly, I have been having major tooth extraction issues with NAPA. They used to offer GREAT customer service, apparently nowadays they are unhappy when a customer shows up at their door because they might have to actually WORK.

Thus the acronym Never Any Parts Available (some folks use). Actually, that has not been the case for me at my local NAPA. I have always had great service when I shop there, and most always leave satisfied.

your mileage may vary; customer satisfaction ratings may vary depending upon who the local franchisee is or if it is a company owned store. The morons running the NAPA in my area need to be replaced...........and soon......government functionaries would be an improvement over the losers they have at my local store. The word "special order" throws them into an endless mind loop........

I was ordering something off Pelican. called and talked to a guy about the part etc... asked if he was a Mercedes guy, NO, I have BMW`s. so he really didn`t have a clue about what ever I was asking. seems he only knew what was on his monitor.

What I picked up is, these guys work out of their homes and just answer the phone etc...

Same here. The NAPA guy has gone the extra mile for me to try to find something for me that he didn't have.
