I ended up finding a shop that was able to tell me that the flex plate was neutral balance, as well as the 240D FW. Rex Hutcherson's Racing Engines in Sacramento was able to do it for future reference.

This was the best news I had heard all day

When I first did the swap on the 85, the 616 FW I used was off and had to be balanced. Later on I located a 617 FW and it too needed to be matched.

there were three HP ratings on the OM616...

1) Not much power
2) Even less power
3) Not nearly enough power!! 240D w/auto

Anyone that thinks a 240D is slow drives too fast.

Well, I darn well hope that my 616 FW is neutral, since the motor is in the car already. I'll know when I start it I guess.
