Yes, Miss Daisy is my green Finback. I think the guy was asking about $3200/OBO for the '68 Universal. (Much more rusty than my 220S!) I could have bought a nice Universal, several years ago for about half. It's still my 'dream' flea market vehicle.

Happy Motoring, Mark

I was there...with name tags!

Sorry I couldn't locate anyone at the event.

Again, there didn't seem to be too many of the "garden variety" Benzes I'd hoped to see (although I "followed" a nice grey finback I thought was headed for the show, but which was nowhere to be found on my arrival).

There were a couple of parking areas, which may have added to the problem of anyone finding other Shopforum dieselers. I put Shopforum on the nametags I brought, but nobody buttonholed me.

Ended up spending time with the "quality folk," including a couple who run a restoration business in Pennsylvania who had a scary nice black 190 convertible, and Dr. Frank Spellman, who has a 300 roadster (complete with luggage, skis, etc) which escaped from Cuba by air as the Batista regime fell.

An odd show. A lot of the Porsches and BMWs were "overrestored," and a lot of the stuff on the field was too new to be really interesting. There were no food, parts, or tchotske vendors, since they have to pay a 10% royalty on sales at the park to the county. No likker allowed either. It was sort of like being in church, only with cars. Rest rooms also hard to find. The pre-war Mercedes someone mentioned was a treat.

I hope we can have a more successful rendezvous in the near future...I still have the nametags! (Will post some photos when film gets back).

Thanks, Reed, for the compliment. Got a lot of help from this website in maintaining the car. It would have been nice had there been name tags; that way, folks might have at least recognized some of the regulars from this site. I did tell a number of people to check it out; so, maybe we'll see some new faces around here.

That 560 SEC was gorgeous. There was also a beautifully maintained E500 under the trees. Very low mileage. Wonder if the owner wants to make a deal?

Some food (and drink) and vendors would have made the experience complete, but I love looking at Benzes no matter what.

Maybe next year we can figure out how to improve things -- particularly when it comes to meeting one another.
