OM 603 Loud clacking noise????

Hi I have a 1987 300td. I took the car on a high speed run to about 200km/h or roughly 125mph stupid i know but i really wanted to see how fast she could go. After that run when i parked home the car just died. I immediately restarted there was a loud clacking noise at idle. Now when the car is cold it starts no problem and sounds ok but after about 15 seconds the clacking starts with a hiccup and then continuous on idle. If i revv the engine to about 2500rpm and let off the car dies. Could the lifters have something to do with this or is it something with the injectors or ip. Previous to the high speed run the car ran fine and did not have any clattering noise. Now it clatters after startup and will die after I rev and let of gas. Also if you try and drive after you stop the car will die sometimes. I parked it and hopefully i can figure this out.
Appreciate the help in advance

Marko

Hard to judge from the description, can you take a video of it running? Any smoke?

Wow that's weird, usually taking these things up to speed clears them out.

Does the car by chance have a trap oxidizer on it?

The trap oxidizer has been removed. I will record it tomorrow and post it.

Almost certainly lifters.

Also, could be filters/fuel delivery.

Today when I got home after work, I started the car and it started once again fine without the clacking noise. I got the wife to rev it a little and it sounded rough but not clacking as it does in the video. I was going to go for a little drive on my street but once under load the clacking started immediately. I parked it and then i noticed the oil light come on although there is enough oil according to dipstick. The car does smoke more then usual. Here is the video Im sorry it was a little dark but you can hear what I am referring to.

Which was caused by this....

You can always pull off the valve cover and take a look...

Get a mechanic's stethoscope so you can pinpoint where the sound is coming from. Had a similar sound on my 190D but found it was injector related instead of head related.
