Interesting. Do you have a link or ph number for this guy?

Watch my video below, I noticed it's (nailing sound) more pronounce when gear is engage, but park it's definitely less can be hear.

and what Bosch part number for this pump?

He said he’d order the springs for me if I really wanted them, but wouldn’t recommend them. The springs are $8/each 😳. This guy is always very helpful and free with sharing info. I’m taking my “vintage” Bosch pop tester to him later this week and he said he would test it for me and see what it needs for me to be able to rebuild my own injectors. He appears to be very helpful. We’ll see. 😁

That's pretty nasty knock in your video. Does it go away when running on straight diesel purge? That should be your very first diagnostic. If it does, you know it's injection related. If it doesn't, you know it's a mechanical problem.

I went to Bosch injection shop that did diesels as well, it was adjacent to the Mercedes repair center. They basically don't rebuild injectors, well at least for my car anyways.

I'll ask if I can buy some actual delivery valves on day and see what happens. They probably wont sell them to me since I'm a complete stranger. OR they won't have access to them period.

It's on and off. It's get bad like this when the engine is hot. I put some 2-stroke oil into fuel and it's went away, than fill with diesel and it came back again. I'm collecting parts for the DV repair. I wanted to change glow plugs as well, as I will remove intake anyway. I think it's too tight to get proper torque on on DV housing.
As you can hear it's get bad when car put into the gear, and than of the gear the nailing sound as not as bad. Too me it's telling me it's fuel pressure related. In gear rmp drops as loud on engine. I have even tried, slow increase rmp and the knocking goes away completely. I thought it's hydraulic lifters but my theory with 2-stroke oil confirm it's combustion or fuel pressure problem.

You can do yourself a lot of favors by running on straight diesel purge. It will clean out the injection pump AND it will tell you if the knock goes away. If it is injector related, the knock should go away entirely since DP is extremely high cetane number. If the knock remains or if it changes, it's a mechanical issue. The noise you have is NOT a lifter.

I will try to do this weekend. It drives me insane, yes it's.
But I will replace pistons as well.

when you do diesel purge did you discount line past inline filter (at metal line ) and another hose coming from filter?

When doing a diesel purge, disconnect the inline filter from the intake hose and install a temporary inline filter with a piece of fuel hose to a jug or bucket. Disconnect the return line back to the tank and let it squirt back in the bucket so you have a closed system recirculating the diesel purge.

Run 2 cans and let it go until the bucket is empty or close to it. If the fluid in the bucket is truly vile, stop sooner so you don't suck that nasty crap up. Change your secondary filter and hook the lines back up and let 'er rip on the fuel in the tank.

Run purge it got dark after 3 -4 min of running. I had can 0.5 liter. The sound was much better wit purge. Than connected back all line and sound is back with little less pronounce. Than after sometime its got even more better.
It's very strange, car was sitting for 20-30 min, after start up and driving, the noise came back, than driving few more light it went away. its a mystery to me.

I ordered DV's "piston" - 7k on picture below. It's pressure valve.

Also Pressure valve career - 7 g said pay attention to installed position. Any clue?

Installed Position of 7g

Just make sure it’s turned right side up. That’s about all you can do. The groove around the bottom should be at the bottom when you install it.

Oh It's not hollow, meaning it has hole but its not empty between inner and outer walls. It's like nut just rounded. I see now.

Btw, thanks for this guy in NC, he placed the ordered already.

I was in there earlier today and told him that he may be getting a call. I dropped off my Bosch pop tester to have it inspected and repaired if needed. He told me today that if I provide the brand nozzles that I want then he’d install the nozzles and set the pop pressures on my injectors for $30 each. It sounded like a pretty fair price. I’d still rather do my own work. Let us know the results of installing the new DV’s.

**Bobby showed me a worn DV and part 7k is where the wear is most critical he said. That part will become grooved and pitted causing the loss of pressure.

greazzer is my go to guy for injector service, much more reasonable price and quick turnaround.
I just sent him my third set of injectors for service.
I am sourcing the new DN0SN315 nozzles now.
They are going be installed in 'Stormcloud'.

I have the set of 5 injectors pulled from 'Rena 2.0' before she was crushed.
greazzer built this set with Monark DN0SD265 nozzles.

Send me a PM if you'd like this spare set.

Injectors

It’s my understanding that he no longer rebuilds injectors. Wasn’t there a thread about that? Maybe not? I can’t find it, but I sure do remember something about that. I was sad when I read it because I had fooled around and never sent him a set to have rebuilt.
