reoccurring fuel leak solved with help of uv led torch

some of you may remember my post a week or so ago about a fuel leak that kept coming back on the lift pump suction hose. recently i bought a uv led light torch on amazon to aid in finding radioactive depression glass while antiquing, and boy does it work well!

today, i got the "bright idea" to put the uv light under the hood to look for ac refer leaks bc i had the mechanic put some dye in the r134a last spring. opened the hood, clicked the light, and holy cow diesel fluources under uv! that may not be news to most of you, but it was to me.

then, i noticed the tops of the delivery valves had the bright green color that was referenced in the clear hoses on the ip and in the prefilter. it looks to me like the delivery valves, mainly 3,4 and 5, are leaking only when the car is run for a while and it's running down the pump to the lowest point, which would be the suspected hose connection at the lift pump.

it's kinda hard to see in the pic, but you can really see it in person. it looks like the blood from the predator movie. guess i will be changing those seals soon.

on a side note, i didn't notice any ac leaks!
