Also, in the W201 the vents are in the trunk under the trunk latch area. They are just flaps that allow pressure out but will close if air tries to come from the outside in.

I do not think that the physics described there are true... I do think you need some oxygen introduced into the car.. perhaps 10 percent open flap...... when the AC is on the humidity is being dropped out the drain tube......and when the heater is on... the ac is also on and it is doing the same thing in order to not have the window fog over... The air coming into the car from outside is almost always more humid than what is being recirculated inside the car....
