The advantage of this method is that you don't need any special skills or tools or paint booth, and you can paint one panel at a time.

Not sure I'd have the patience, but if you have the spare time, and take lots of pictures to show you aren't hiding anything...

I'd like to suggest yet another option. I was tempted to go the roller method on my 240D, but I instead opted to spray Rustoleum through an electric HVLP turbine spray gun. I believe it cuts down on the work. I bought the sprayer on Craigslist (had never been used) at a big discount. I just got the car on the road.

Here's some before and after. When I bought the car in 2012:

And here's the car as of yesterday (please forgive the dust - it was far too cold to wash the car yesterday):

Very nice looking car! How much does the spray gun cost? Did you need to set up a painting booth? How did you learn how to spray the paint?

I used this one. If not this exact model, then something really similar:
Wagner Flexio 590 HVLP Paint Sprayer Kit-0529010 - The Home Depot

1) I probably paid about half that. Once again - brand new, but pre-owned off Craigslist.

2) No booth. There wasn't a lot of overspray. I just got a good respirator and sprayed in my garage (door open).

3) I just Googled, read, and watched Youtube videos. I could have thinned the paint out more, which would have saved a lot of wet-sanding and polishing, but I'd absolutely paint another beater this way.
