I have only once driven a 210, but I went right from a 124 to 211. Therefore; I don't have too many opinions on a 210. By me in the midwest, I could not find a 210 that wasn't rusty, i looked at probably 30 of them when i was looking for a newer diesel. To me, from the back the 210 is ugly as hell!
I never feel cramped in the 211, but it is obvious that you are exactly where the car wants you to be for the airbags. My mono wiper always has worked well in my 87 300D. Every few years i replace the blade. Always bosch.
The auto wipers are just awesome on the 211. they always seem to go at the right speed.
A few things i liked better on the 124, but comfort is not on that list. I miss the handling. I have not found anything with a rack that out handles a 124. It was ss sure footed and "tossable." The angle of the windshield was right on a 124 so that rain just beaded off at highway speeds. i rarely needed the wipers unless it was pouring.
The mileage and power of the om 648 is just amazing.

I put 100k on my '98 E300 and I thought it was the best diesel sedan out there until I test drove a w211 CDI. The w211 is better in almost every conceivable way, plus the w210 has those serious rust issues.

SHERTX I got the 3.5 mm cable and hooked up my Android. The control panels still says NO Phone connected. Is this plug and play or do I need to configure it?

As far as I know, the system doesn't recognize it. But it works in the sense that the phone audio plays through the sound system (which is all I really care about).

Hi shertex tried again with wife's Apple phone. No luck. Hate to keep nagging. But does it matter what the command center is on. By the way I have Harmon Kordon if that matters.

Command Center on Aux. All you get is the audio out from the phone. No controls, no mic, etc, etc. Only the audio out.
I had to turn the volume up on the phone to max to hear it through the car sound system.

Yes, you have to have it set to aux input.

BTW it doesn't work/help to put the phone on speaker phone. Just have it set like you're making a regular call. Surprisingly, the iPhone mic seems to pick up your voice pretty well, even if phone is lying on center console. Of course you'll have to experiment with someone on the other end of the phone to figure out optimal placement.

W211 looks like a late 90's Ford Taurus to me. I don't find the shape attractive at all. W210 looks stately and regal.
W210 is way easier to work on. But fighting the W210 rust is a real annoyance.
W211 seats are way more comfortable. Could be because my W210 seats are worn out now, after ~210k miles.
W210 has a more solid driving "feel" to it, like a tank.
W211 is waaaay faster. om606 n/a 134 hp & 155 ft/lbs is just no comparison at all with om642 with 211 hp and 400 ft/lbs.

Just my own opinions.

3. The monowiper! Still don't understand why MB abandoned this.

That's really all I can think of....love my CDI.
too bad the USA didnt get the W210 CDI models, they were/are fantastic
