Turned Engine on this morning and was looking under the hood.

I went to turn off the engine using the RED STOP Lever located above the injection pump but the engine would NOT shut off.

Not sure what the correct terminology (name) is used to identify the RED STOP LEVER, but all I know is that its used to shut off engine when a check valve fails and you are unable to shut the engine off using your ignition.

I grabbed my 14mm deep socket and a flat head screw driver to play around with the idle using the nut and screw which sits at bottom side of the injection pump.
The nut and screw are visible when looking from top, between the engine and the injection pump.

Dropped the idle and increased the idle but no difference, the engine wants to shut down but ends up being short of shutting completely off.

I grabbed my flat head screw driver and popped off the arm that attaches between the idle assembly (RED STOP Lever) and injection pump.

I shortened the length of the vertical arm that goes into the injection pump and noticed that the RED STOP Lever was adjusted away from the engine BUT when I went to depress the RED STOP Lever again, the engine would NOT shut off.

While the Engine was running, I held the RED STOP lever in place with Vise Grips and went to pop off the top part of the vertical adjustable arm. I pulled the arm up ALL THE WAY to simulate the action of the RED STOP lever and once again, THE ENGINE WOULD NOT SHUT OFF.

Good thing my check valves are OK and I'm able to turn the engine off by turning my ignition.

Still looking around to see what else can be adjusted.
