cleaning hood foam
I've got an oily spot on my hood foam where the PS pump pulley was spraying ATF. Now that the pump has been sealed, I'm looking for a way to clean the oil off my hood foam.
I replaced the foam a few years ago, so its still soft. just need to clean it up a bit. any suggestions, products, protocols? '83 300cd turbo, with waffle pattern hood foam thx hope everybody had a nice thxgiving |

I would be careful with solvents - perhaps something like washing up liquid will help?

I agree with Stretch. The most aggressive I'd think you should use is Simple Green or one of the citrus degreasers.

That stuff they sell the dollar stores, "Awsome" is a really good oil emulsifier.
If the oil is soaked in pretty good, it may not come out and leave the stain. Charlie Sent from my pos computer
