Hey jt20, I skimmed through the 18 posts and might have missed it, but what car was this for?

Second question were there any names stamped on the calipers like Ate, Girling, or Bendix?

Sorry, I should have put that in there... I was mad at the time I posted.

They were for rear w123 300td wagon. I am under the impression that all rear calipers for 300td are ATE.

One of the calipers I received was a reman ATE. the other was some knockoff, unbranded but new caliper. very shiny and unused.

the reman Ate was the one with bad threads.

Nugeon has repeatedly given me weird calipers with no name on them just like in charmalu's thread.

I went to my local brake rebuilder/repairer to get a price for rebuilding mine. The cost was more than those rebuilt calipers available from this sponsor and that is taking into consideration no return of the core as I am not returning mine from here and shipping.

I just may have to pay the price to get my own ones rebuilt, at least I know my cores are good with no stripped threads.

'Remanufactured' once upon a time meant close if not better than new but it doesn't seem the case these days. Shame. I would still give feedback to PP.

Was the caliper with the wallowed out threads for the rear driver side? Just wondering if by chance the "rebuilder" put it back into inventory, and you ended up with it.

yes it was. Perhaps even Pelican is guilty of this one.

I am getting another one directly from Nugeon. Lets see how this goes.
