When I looked on the regular US eBay they listed 190D Coolant Recovery Tanks for about $19 and Some by Meyle on up to $30. Don't know if there is differences in years and unforunately sometimes the Sellers don't know much about what they are selling.

But, if you are not in a hurry you can email the Seller and witnin 2 days they usally answer.

The 190DT uses a unique recovery tank (2015000249/2015000549), which is priced like solid gold. Fortunately, it's a direct interchange with the tank used in a 400E (1245001549). But that's not the OP's problem.

The seller cancelled the transaction, NLA. So I need to find a similar one to hack.

Totally different tank.

1) Hose connections are in wrong place
2) It won't fit in. It's too big.

Since I had the same issue finding a replacement tank for my 87 300TD I took the information and got a tank from a 90's 400E.

The tank is larger in size but I made it work with tightening mounting nuts for the tank and air cleaner housing in stages.

You can see the size differences between the old and replacement tank in the pictures. The only thing I don't like the fitment of is the lower hose. It's secure but not pushed onto the neck as far as the old one.

I'll add the part number of the replacement tank when I get back home.

This part is an exact fit of the 1987 300D diesel. 124 500 13 49,1245001349. I just bought one and it is literally the SAME.

Bumping an old thread... does anyone know if the currently-available aftermarket (Febi/Rein) tanks, 124-500-13-49, have the silica pack inside?
