Has Anyone Had Problems With Aftermarket non-mercedes Trans Linkage Shift Bushings?

Are aftermarket Shift (and Linkage) Bushings for an automatic transmission W123 Ok or is this another area where OEM is needed?

Pff, I'm still running a piece of rubber hose that I threw on there a couple years ago until I could get a new one and of course forgot once it was no longer a problem. Unless it immediately cracked and fell off I don't think there's much that could go wrong with them.

They're just a piece of nylon. I don't see how the aftermarket manufacturers could screw that up. I used OEM on mine solely because I ordered another OEM part and tacked the bushings on to save freight costs.

Thanks just some pics of what I found.
Note I am also going to replace the steel clips on the shift rod as they are really rusty and likely to snap when I remove them or re-install them.

First off one of the bolts that holds down the shifter housing snapped off due to beint rusted.

My computer is not letting me post pics so I will try to describe.

In the actual shifter housing the Bushing closest to the driver had the flange cracked off and in fact gone and the bushing slid out of the bore towards the passanger side.

The 2 smallest bushings that go on the small shaft that the sring rids on fell apart.

The shifter linkage bushing at the top is entirely gone. I have not taken a look at the bottom one near the Neutral Safety Switch but that is likely also gone.

There are shifter bushings inside the vehicle on the shifter assembly, and a set of 2 bushings on the shifting linkage in the transmission tunnel. The latter two are the ones that generally cause the most problems when they fail and disappear. If the bushings in the shifter assembly have failed (far less common than the ones under the car), they're worth replacing to improve the feeling of the shifter, but they shouldn't cause the issues with engagement and no-start like the main shifter bushings under the car do.

Yes that was this description "In the actual shifter housing the Bushing closest to the driver had the flange cracked off and in fact gone and the bushing slid out of the bore towards the passanger side."

Those are the large bushings with the flange on them.

I didn't need the metal clips but bought one in case I lost it in the gravel or shift tunnel. They are cheap and all bushings with a clip or 2 can be bought together.
