Harbor Freight Mechanical Dial Indicator Setup
I recently had a job where the tupical magnetic base was not going to do the job because the Transmission Housing was Aluminum. Also my old C clamp type dial indicator clamp has been missing for like 15 years (harbor freight does not sell them).
The set comes with an US type dial indicator and a vice grips that has an attacment on it to screw in (3 positions) a flexiable arm (allowing you a lot of freedom to position the arm) that becomes ridgend enough to use the indicator after you lock it. The arm nas a collar that you screw to decrease or increase the tension on the arm to keep it ridgid. The price without a coupon was around $33 which you can view at the Harbor Freight website. Using a 20% off coupon and with the sales tax it was $28 something.

I do not see a question ... so I say congratulations.... those are very handy.... and to those who will bad mouth everything from HF... all you have to do to check this dial indicator is to stick a few of your flat finger thickness gauges under it...and compare.. I got one on a manager's special which has the large face...for $6 and it works great....
