This guys honestly knowledgeable with diesels and knows these cars but I'm just saying, be careful on his website and what he is selling.

The read up on his rank damper adjustment is a damned joke, if your car is running rough, it's not the rack damper people... And he's saying the trucktek lower oil cooler line was specifically made in Germany. Right. You can get this part for $39 on pelican dude.

I don't know. I know the guy's quite knowledgeable and offers VERY good pointers and advice in his videos, but I think the differences between his opinion and the engineers at Mercedes Germany differs HUGELY heh.

He's selling massively overpriced parts that you can make yourself. For example the valve adjustment wrench. Really? Really? These are items you can make those yourself for $20 or you can buy the GERMANY made ones from the dealer for $150 (I just checked last week). Just a FYI that's all.

Guys, gimme a break. He posts videos on YouTube telling you how to repair your cars. The videos are free. You can see he runs a shop. If he sells parts and makes some money, that's why he's in business.

I didn't mean I haven't benefited from his videos but just about everything he sells has a video for purchase which gives complete details on how to install the produce. The video aren't free. I understand that and have no real complaints for I love capitalism.

I think he sold injector nozzles for years without mentioning that they need to be pop tested and shimmed to be installed correctly.

I won't speculate as to what he was thinking when he fail to talk about balancing them but I'd say he never ignored balancing when he installed a set in a customer's car.

He sells a PDF on his products page that demonstrates pop testing. He sells pop testers. He sells shims. I'm not sure what else you could want.

I've bought a couple of his kits. They are expensive for what they are, but having everything in one box with illustrated instructions and a lemon drop is sometimes worth the price.

That's because he was the sole US distributor. Don't know if that has changed.

I spent most of an afternoon around Kent maybe 15 yrs ago met his lovely family his daughter was about to be married I think the next day but he still made time for me. visited his house where he showed me his collection of mercedes then went to his shop. The young man behind the counter said most income was from Internet sales he didn't really wrench to much any more. Since then his videos took off so he gets reverse Google ad money for anyone watching them in addition to sales. He's a sucessful marketer and very knowledgeable about most mercedes gas or diesel.

as log as you source decent 14mm wrenches, its fairly easy to make the sets...

no machine shop is needed. just a grinder, and a welder... and a torch to heat them for bending...

I made several sets myself. still have lots of wrenches to make more.

You don't have a business, you have a hobby. ( and that isn't a bad thing. )

Take into account every expense related to making these to get a real sense of what profit you are making. Every expense includes, a work shop, fire / theft / liability insurance, wear and tear on equipment, electricity, fuel, heat, time it takes to order materials , time it takes to take orders , time it takes to ship.

Making these at home then saying you are paying for most of that stuff anyway isn't how a business is run and why many ventures fail to produce a break even profit or a meaningful one.

Also include the cost of the occasional defective product and customers that damage the product then return it.
