You can always screw two nuts on it. Lock them together and use the right one to remove the bolt. Assuming, of course, that it screws out of the floorboard.

Spray it with PB Blaster, leave it overnight, spray it once more the next day, hit it (not too hard) straight down with a hammer, clamp some vice-grips on it and turn it out?

From what I can see, it's bolted to a u-nut. Cut a bit, bend, pry and pull it out

X2 "Spray it with PB Blaster, leave it overnight, spray it once more the next day, hit it (not too hard) straight down with a hammer, clamp some vice-grips on it and turn it out?"

AND try tightening it before loosening it.

If no success then...

I've been dousing it with an ATF/acetone solution for two weeks.

I've twisted it both ways several times over that period. I haven't tried hitting it with a hammer but I will certainly give it a go today.

I appreciate the directions, thank you.

Strike while applying the torque, if it breaks bend the u clip out and replace it.

Is it in a location where you could use a micro-torch to heat? I've always had better luck with heat rather than chemicals or impact. I know that penetrant spray would kick up a serious amount of smoke but cleaning with brake cleaner beforehand should alleviate that.

The acetone and lacquer thinner is a good penetrant

but since you have been using that for so long.. why don't you clean up the area around it.. since this is a vertical hole you are dealing with ......and put a little bead of RTV about an inch around the outside..build up a little Dam.. let it CURE over night ... come back and put some of the acetone / lac thinner into it ... like a quarter inch deep .. then leave it over night..

I should have thought of that two weeks ago.

Today I tried again to loosen the bolt and ended up grinding it down to a nub and finessing it out with a pair of channel locks and a big screw driver.

I'm a little ashamed to have left something this simple hanging around for so long.

Thank you all, gentlemen.
