Today I was about to drop $2,000 on a rebuilt transmission

For those who know me by my previous potion for those who don't I was having transmission problems on my 1984 Mercedes 300 turbo diesel. Upon accelerating you would slip in Gears like a rodeo it was to the point where the car was jerking. I honestly was stumped on what was causing it I had the transmission serviced I change the gasket the fluid even both the filters. So today after work I decided to look at the fluid I remembered I read a post on benzworld that the best way to check the fluid was on a flat even surface and the car in neutral, so I did all that clean the dipstick and check the fluid. Lo and behold will fluid was low and I mean really low. So I put some more fluid in the transmission and the difference is night and day when it comes to shifting. I can actually feel the turbo in action the RPMs do not sky rocket anymore.
