W124 Door Lock Question

Hello All,

Truck locked stopped operating with the key a few months ago and I internally flagged it as inconvenient as both doors were operational.

Replaced the igntion lock and key due to wear.

Now, driver door lock no longer functions with a key. To lock and unlock I am now down to passenger side only.

Friend suggested going keyless entry which does appeal to me. But would still like operational key untilizing doors...

Other vehicles I have owned in the past I've have been able to acquire complete lock sets with keys for reasonable costs.

I am willing to have two different keys, one for ignition and one for locks.

Pls advise how others have worked around this.

JM

In the past I have bought keys and locks from the dealership - they will provide the correct key for the vehicle when it left the factory. As you've changed some locks this won't necessarily help.

There are other options available - site sponsors (?) - bay of ee - etc etc

Otherwise there are probably enough people on this forum who might be willing to sell you a complete set of locks and keys second hand - try a WTB advert and see what turns up
