Complete list of vehicles that accept 61x engines.
Getting to know these engines and systems better and better, I quite like the idea of throwing one in something that looks great but has a less than stellar reputation (e.g. a Jaguar XJ-12).
I realize that with enough engineering savvy you could probably pack a 61x into a clown car, but I’m curious about the more conventional transplants that exist in the wild with only a limited amount of modification. I’ve seen a few people on here with 61x engines in jeeps, landcruisers and even a boat(!). What have you seen, what have you done?

Toyota pickup, 4runner, and LC swaps are pretty common.

Jaguar? That V12 is a gem, don't you dare touch it. A 617 belongs in a blunt German car. Maybe you can find an old VW Caddy that needs an engine.

I've seen more than a few Dodge Dakotas with an OM617. Even contemplated doing a swap myself when I had my '03 quad cab.

You could, I'm sure it's been done. The issue is that the pumps aren't governed off of idle so you'll need some sort of goveber to get it to run at a constant speed under load.

Very true.
Even ignoring governor issues, the engine would be hugely outsized compared to the generator I'm looking at. Wouldn't be long for this world, being run so lightly loaded.

I recently bought a 300SD to pull the OM617 out so I can put it in my '87 Nissan D21.
