for $2200 this one looks pretty clean -- just needs a blower fuse.

Famous last words. Might mean it just needs a CC head unit. Things I don't like to see in an ad for an old Merc:

- just needs an a/c recharge (needs $2000 of HVAC work)
- recently serviced (was it not serviced before now?)
- minor surface rust (follow the rust)
- transmission could use a vacuum adjustment (needs a new transmission)
- lowered suspension (can't get it aligned)

and the best one

- minor blems as expected on a car of this age (it's an old jalopy)

I actually deduced that from the posting. Many people don't know about the little strip fuse.

Seems the market for these old gems is diminishing.

I’m going to be selling off a few cars too, including my rust-free ‘95 E300 with 413,000 miles. I’ll probably have better luck advertising it as a set of Mercedes wheels with (literally) brand-new Michelin Premier A/S tires for $600... plus another $600 for an entire running car attached to them. What a deal! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

vstech, what are you asking for the car if someone can come get it? What about the other cars listed?

I guess that's what happens when you cross the 30 year old threshold
Exactly, sadly. My last notification of a new arrival of any '91 or earlier in my local yards was October November last year. And that whole year they only came trickling in once/twice every 2/3 months.

At least one of the last ones went out with a bit of a bang - a delightful '88 Euro 280se with the short bumpers, manual windows, velour seats, Euro headlights with vacuum level control which I got and the dual climate control which I, very stupidly, left behind.

Are you looking to replace bhodi? Or just preparing for a parts car?

I'm reasonable, look the car over see what it's worth to you and make a fair offer.

You are a bit far, so tell me what you want pics of, and an idea what the car could be worth to you... a range from worst to best is fine. And I will take pics, video whatever ya need.

I'm actually looking into buying a commercial property outside the city limits and building a large metal building on it to store my favorite ones in... I have two sites I'm bidding on now... we'll see...

That's crazy the lengths you have to go to to keep a few cars...seems like any property outside city limits should do. I live in a fairly uptight CA city, and the neighborhood I'm in people keep cars on their property. But we also don't rat each other out to the city...

Bodhi is coming back someday for sure but it's just been a longer process than I thought so I've been tempted to get another one to play with in the interim. To be honest my main motivation on this one would just be saving one ... the rust-free part is nice. It's just an idea I'm tossing around because obviously the logistics would be tough and the last thing I need probably is another project. But it sounds too nice to let go to the crusher. I think in order for me to justify it it would need to be <$1000 and some things would have to fall into place as far as getting someone with a truck and the time to help go down and get it. Maybe I'm dreaming a bit but I've been craving another 87 300D and they aren't plentiful up here and are always rusty.

OIC...

in that case, I will see what pics I can post up for you, and see what shipping should cost.
I think you would need to be here for the title transfer...

Please send me your address, I'd love to come take a look at this sedan as well as other cars. I've sent you my email and cell phone by p.m.

I've got a spare #20 head just gathering dust, and a nice OM603 w/ trans, only 148k miles, that I pulled from a wreck. Hate to leave it just sitting.
